  • We're happy to share this upbeat song with you from the PFC Band's 2018 concert in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. This song was written at GoldenEye in Jamaica after a conversation about music with Chris Blackwell (founder of Island Records). He told a story about Sting writing “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” sitting on the beach just down the way. PFC Band member Robin Moxey woke up early the next day and went to the beach with his guitar to see if inspiration would strike.  Thinking about his encounter with a wise Rastaman at the “government yard” in Trenchtown the day before, Robin began to strum and the song just poured out. "It’s an anthem about doing your best and not being a prisoner in your own mind," says Robin. "It seemed to write itself and was finished just in time for breakfast."  A few months later, the PFC Band was performing the song live in front of thousands of people in Brazil with Grandpa Elliott playing some down home harmonica over a horn laden “Jamaican country gumbo“ created by musicians from all over the world. Let the music set you free! Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music programs for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet. To learn more about the work of the PFC Foundation, visit http://www.playingforchange.org
